Baltic Pitching Forum announces winning pitches

Two Baltic projects will go on to take part in large European pitching events in 2016 as the 2105 Baltic Pitching Forum came to a close last weekend in Vilnius, Lithuania.

The first of these projects was Winter In The Rainforest, a project pitched by Estonian animator and director Anu-Laura Tuttelberg whose film FlyMill won mutliple awards across the festival circuit. The puppet animation will now be pitched at the 2016 edition of Euro Connection held as part of the 38th International Clermont-Ferrand Short Film Festival. The second was the powerful drama Bathhouse from Lithuania. The director Laurynas Bareisa and producer Klementina Remeikaite will be heading to the European Short Pitch 2016.

The Baltic Pitching Forum is a two day event that aims to provide a focus on some of the projects and talented filmmakers currently coming out of Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia. 9 projects from the Baltic countries were pitched to a panellist of industry experts who gave feedback on the projects and chose the two projects who would go on to take part in the pitching events next year. Pitching training was also held and was designed to foster relationships between filmmakers in each country and encourage them to attract active European producers, TV commissioners, film fund representatives, VoD and festival programmers and distributors in the future.

The event is organised by the Lithuanian Short Film Agency “Lithuanian Shorts” in association with the Riga International Film Festival 2ANNAS in Latvia, the Riga International Film Festival in Latvia, the ShortEst Short Film Center in Estonia and the Sleepwalkers International Short Film Festival in Estonia.
