The 9th International Short Film Festival ZUBROFFKA is waiting for your film
The call for entries for 9th edition of the International Short Film Festival ZUBROFFKA, which will take place between 3 and 7 December 2014 in Bialystok, is now open. The festival organizers strongly encourage filmmakers to submit their films. The author of the best picture will receive a prize of 2000 Euro and a chance to sign a distribution deal with ShortsTV - the world leader in distribution of short films.
For nine years now the festival has been building a cultural bridge between the East and the West. ZUBROFFKA is the place where the energy of both worlds meets. The organizers invite artists, films; organize Q&A sessions, show photography and comic exhibitions from both worlds, searching for a common language. Last year, the festival was visited by more than 8,000 festival-goers, including over 100 representatives of the film industry. The selection committee qualified 73 films for competitions and presented over 200 films in non-competitive programs. During the festival you can always expect lots of concerts, meetings with artists, photo and comic exhibitions, panel discussions, workshops, film screenings and much more. Screenings as usual will be held in Bialystok, as well as in other towns of Podlasie - the land of bison and film.
ZUBROFFKA presents 6 different competitions, including a new section, KIDS, dedicated to films for children.
The Eastward Window section is dedicated to films directed by independent filmmakers from the former socialist block countries. The Whole Wide World section presents short films made by artists from around the world, with the exception of participants of the national competitions and the Eastward Window.
Special prizes for the best animation, best documentary, best feature and cinematography are also awarded, as well as The Wild Bison audience award.
The deadlines for submitting films are 1 September 2014 for international films and 1 October for Polish films.
Submissions can be made on line here or traditionally by post.
