Academy announces short animation shortlist for Oscars
The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has announced the 10 animated short films will go forward for the 87th Academy Awards. Academy members will choose between three and five films from these 10.
Director Daisy Jacobs and Christopher Hees, who produced for London’s National Film and Television School, will represent the UK with The Bigger Picture. Also from the UK is director Alan Holly’s Coda, produced by And Maps And Plans. Representing The Netherlands is Joris Oprins’ A Single Life, produced by Job, Joris & Marieke. From Hungary, Réka Bucsi’s Symphony No. 42, produced by Moholy-Nagy University of Art and Design Budapest, makes the cut.
The Academy Award nominations will be announced January 15.
