A Wall Is A Screen celebrates 10 years of Soirée Allemande at Clermont-Ferrand

Audiences from the Clermont-Ferrand International Short Film Festival wrapped up warm last night as the snow came down to enjoy the latest offering from German based A Wall is A Screen.

The event sees a city become a cinema as films are projected on walls across the city giving people the opportunity to see films in unusual places. Last night’s locations including the side of a hotel, a car park and La Jetée, the short film archive the hosts the offices of the Clermont-Ferrand Short Film Festival.

The program of films from the celebrated the anniversary of Soirée Allemande, the programme that has showcased German short films at the festival for the last ten years. Films screened included the kaleidoscopic animation Love and Theft (Dir. Andreas Hykade, Germany, 2010) , the deadpan dark comedy It’s Me Helmut (Ich Bin's. Helmut) (Dir. Nicolas Steiner, Germany, 2009), stylish black and white documentary MotoDrom (Dir. Jörg Wagner, Germany, 2006) and the experimental Play (Dirs. Christoph Girardet & Matthias Müller, Germany, 2003)

A Wall is a Screen is presented by the AG Kurzfilm - Bundesverband Deutscher Kurzfilm and German Films.

Upcoming A Wall Is A Screen events will take place at the Tampere Film Festival and the Glasgow Short Film Festival.
