Other Voices signs three films at Clermont-Ferrand

Other Voices, the short film distribution company based in Italy, has signed three films at the Clermont-Ferrand International Short Film Festival that concluded last week. All three films screened in the festival’s International Competition.

The first is Spanish fiction film Zarautzen Erosi Zuen (She Bought It In Zarautz) (Dir. Aitor Arregi , Spain, 2014), the story of a put upon girl who decides that enough is enough when someone steals a blouse from her shop.

Cinzia Spironello, Head of Sales and Acquisitions at Other Voices, said of the film:

“It’s a simple and easy going story, with some amazingly acting from the female lead, who is willing to fight for her rights but still unable to stand up for herself.”

Other films picked up were Cuentos Excepcionales De Un Equipo Juvenil Femenino. Capítulo 1: Las Arácnidas (Exceptional Tales From A Young Female Team. Chapter 1: Arachnids) (Dir. Tom Espinoza, Argentina/Venezuela , 2015) – the dark and surreal tale of a female synchronised swimming team that is meant to form a series of films examining relationships between groups of teenage girls - and Modernidad (Dir. Roberto Barba Rebaz, Peru, 2014), the story of a teenager who tries to show his mother what kind of life his father lives after he abandoned them seven years previously.

Other Voices works worldwide on the distribution of short films to Festivals, Televisions, VOD platforms and cinemas. Among their regular buyers are ARTE, CANAL+, NBC, FRANCETV, MEDIASET,YLE, SVT, and ZDF
