Brussels Short Film Festival unveils its award winners

The Israeli short Paris Al Amaym (Paris on the Water) (Dir.Hadas Ayalon, Israel, 2014)  was the big winner in the awards ceremony that took place last Sunday by taking both the Grand Prix International of the festival as well as the Jury Prize home in this 18th edition of the Brussels Short Film Festival. The film tells the story of Bathya, a former film star who gets what she thinks is her chance to get back to movies. That decision will not be so easy to take though.

The German short Tissina Mujo by French-Swiss director Ursula Meier got the Jury Prize. The film by Meier - who is also well regarded in the feature film world for such films are 2012's Sister - sees a boy enter a graveyard to search for his missing ball only to find himself wandering this kingdom of the dead. 

In the national competition August by Jeroen Perceval got the Grand Prix National while Monstre by Delphine Girard got the Prize of the Federation Wallonie-Bruxelles. Finally, Tout va bien by Laurent Scheid got the Jury Prize.

This edition of the Brussels Short Film Festival saw more than 130 films compete in the three competitions.
