Complete programme for Go Short announced
The complete program of Go Short - International Short Film Festival Nijmegen is now available online as the 8th edition of the Dutch festival takes place from 6-10 April. The festival will showcase 300 recent European films, with competition titles including a recent Sundance winner Maman(s) and the wildly popular German film Symbolic Threats.
The 2016 edition of Go Short aims to reflects on what is going on in the world right through the medium of cinema. Fear is Not An Option is a look at the state of the world today. Terrorism, economic malaise, global warming: there is a lot to be afraid of. But fear, though understandable, does not make those problems go away. Sometimes, fear is just not an option. Festival de Nouveau Cinéma Montreal, Vienna Independent Shorts and Go Short have joined forces to put fear on the map.
World Matters sees Go Short collaborating with the Dutch human rights film festival Movies That Matter on a program which shows documentaries and fiction films that approach current issues all in their own unique way. Topics range from the outbreak of Ebola to getting confronted with the death penalty.
Other progammes in the festival include a retrospective of Romanian filmmaker Adrian Sitaru and a section dedicated to animals in short films
Ticket sales for the festival have now started. You can find more info at www.goshort.nl.
