Five Minute Challenge – The Cineuropa Shorts / Filminute Audience Award

Beginning last week, FILMINUTE is the international one-minute film festival that challenges filmmakers, writers, animators, artists, designers, and creative producers to develop and submit the world's best one-minute films. With 25 diverse and eclectic films for audiences to enjoy, the festival encourages audiences to watch them all and vote for their favourite.

We here at Cineuropa Shorts have picked five of our favourite European films and want our readers to take part in the five minute challenge. Find a spare five minutes out of your day – at lunch, in the evening or perhaps as you have your breakfast – and watch the films we have chosen for you. Then all you need to do is email the choice of your favourite film to filminute@cineuropa.org by 25th October and look forward to finding out which film wins the Cineuopa Shorts Audience Award as part of Filminute

Cineuropa Shorts has chosen a selection of films that go from comedy to dark drama, from animation to documentary. Each film shows how shorts can tell a compelling story in a minimum amount of time.

So take five minutes out of your day and watch the below:

A2042 (Dir. David Castro González, Spain)

JUST KIDS (Dir. Lucia G-Luben, Spain, 2016

LOVE AT FIRST LIGHT (Dir. Caroline Grace-Cassidy, Ireland, 2016)
