The Juggler and Riga’s Lilac win at 2016 Baltic Pitching Forum

The Baltic Pitching Forum - held annually in Vilnius, Lithuania – gives 9 projects from Latvia, Estonia and Lithuania the opportunity to pitch their works in front of a panel of renowned industry guests as well as networking with their peers.

The first winner of the 2016 edition was The Juggler (dir. Skirmanta Jakaitė, prod. Agnė Adomėnė, Lithuania). The film is promised to be an allegorical animation about how humans spend their lives juggling all their responsibilities. Jakaitė was the co-director of the multi-award winning animation Non-Euclidean Geometry which has proved massively popular on the festival circuit over the past few months.
The win means the The Juggler is selected to participate at European Short Film Co-production Forum Euro Connection of 39th Clermont-Ferrand Short Film Festival.

The second winner of the Baltic Pitching Forum is Riga’s Lilac (dir. Lizete Upīte, Latvia), an animation that will examine how people react to strong smells. The film will participate at European Short Pitch 2017 organised by NISI MASA - European Network of Young Cinema.

The Baltic Pitching Forum panellists consisted of Laurent Crouzeix (Clermont-Ferrand International Short Film Festival, France) Jing Hasse (Nordisk Panorama, Denmark), Valentine Lodatto (VODD, France), Theo Tsappos (Swedish Film Institute, Sweden), Riho Unt (Animator, Estonia), Wim Vanacker (European Script Pitch, Belgium) and Sari Volanen (YLE, Finland)
